American Legion Post 28 would like to invite you to stop by and check out the latest upgrades to the post or just come up and have a good time among other Veterans, Sons, or Auxiliary members. We are a veteran family friendly post working to serve our veterans and community. Upgrades to Post 28 worth checking out include new HVAC unit 2025, new art mural on front of building 2025, new Kitchen renovation 2024, new sheds and Lawn equipment 2024, renovated bathrooms 2023, Split-Mini AC units 2023, and the latest new Flooring installation planned for Jan 26th to 3 Feb 2026. It is worth your time to come up, socialize with other Veterans, and join, renew, or transfer to Post 28 if eligible. January 10, 2026:
Please see the Calander. January 26th 08:00am will start Floor renovations with Team Home Depot installers showing up around this time. Looking for Volunteers to move furniture on 25Jan Sunday prior to the renovations AND Monday to ensure everything is moved out for renovation. Lunch provided to those who help on Monday the 26th. On Sunday the 25th of January NFL NFC and AFC Championship game will be televised with limited tables and seating at the post due to preparations for renovating, but please come up, enjoy the game and help move furniture if you can. Once flooring has been installed, volunteers will be needed to move furniture back into the Post. Date subject to change, but the plan is to begin moving back in on Sunday Feb 1st and Monday Feb 2nd for Arrow machines. Lunch will be provided by the Post for those who volunteer and move furniture back. Again, dates subject to change depending on actual completion date of flooring installed. DIRECT INTERMENT PROGRAM
Although it doesn’t occur very often, there are situations in which a veteran, or spouse, is laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery WITHOUT anyone (other than the cemetery staff and the hearse driver) being present. It’s referred to as a “Direct Interment” burial, and/or a burial without attendees.
Volunteers are needed to help stand for these veterans and spouses, and ensure they receive the recognition they deserve. For more information on participating in the program, contact Scott Haller (legionridersp28@gmail.com)
