REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN THE AMERICAN LEGION <\/p>\n\n\n\n
IMPORTANT: EVERYONE MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF
DD 214 OR DISCHARGE PAPERS<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Annual Dues are $40 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NEW MEMBERSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Eligible veterans applying for first time membership can either do it online, by mail, or in person at the Post.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n In person, at the Post, the best time is during Friday evening Dinner or after the monthly General Meeting, third Saturday of the month meeting starts at 10:00am. S. Armed Forces between:<\/p>\n\n\n\n (April 6, 1917 – November 11, 1918) World War I<\/p>\n\n\n\n (December 7, 1941 – Present)<\/p>\n\n\n\n All Service to include but not limited to: \u200bBecause eligibility dates remain open, all Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join the American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the United States government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u200bMust have served at least one day of active military duty during one of the dates above and honorably discharged or still serving honorably. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u200bFor any questions please contact our membership chairman, Mark Williams, at adjutant@valegionpost28.org<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n NEW MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Eliminate the yearly hassle of remembering to renew your American Legion membership by taking advantage of the single year renewal or new multiyear membership available to current and potential members. Legionnaires needing to renew for 2026 or veterans joining the organization can do so by visiting legion.org\/renew<\/a>. As an added benefit, you can update your user profile, mailing address, mail preference, print out your membership card, and more. Please check it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A multiyear membership was approved by the National Executive Committee of The American Legion during the organization\u2019s Spring Meeting in May 2024.
